Striker Andrew Kozek will no longer appear for the EC-KAC in the coming season.

After two and a half years and a total of 129 competition games for Red-White, striker Andrew Kozek is leaving Klagenfurt again: At the current, economically uncertain time, the EC-KAC did not make the Canadian an offer to extend his contract, so the striker looked elsewhere.

Andrew Kozek came to the Rotjacken in January 2018 as a tried and tested EBEL goalgetter and lived up to this reputation during his time at Wörthersee: No other KAC player has scored more than 33 goals in league games since the Canadian was signed, Kozek came on during this period 56 goals. The now 34-year-old recorded a total of 90 scorer points (60 goals, 30 assists) in his 129 appearances in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League and the Champions Hockey League, the crowning highlight of his time at the club was the championship title won with the team in 2019.

Andrew Kozek and his family felt very comfortable in Klagenfurt, daughter Kit was born here, and the family also spent the entire summer in the city. In the past few weeks, the striker has been a training guest on the Rotjacken farm team in order to maintain contact with the ice in preparation for the tasks ahead.
