Andretti, looking to participate in not only F1 but also the WEC hypercar class[F1-Gate.com]

Andretti’s racing organization aims to further expand its business beyond Formula 1 to include the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Andretti, who has publicly announced his intention to submit an entry for F1 alongside Cadillac, is racing in the US IMSA sportscar championship in partnership with Wayne Taylor Racing.

At a press conference ahead of next weekend’s 24 Hours of Daytona, Michael Andretti said his family’s racing team has ambitions to compete in the WEC and Le Mans hypercar classes.

Wayne Taylor’s plans would be in line with the team’s current and future partnership with Honda.

“It’s no secret that we want to do it. I think we’re going to have a satellite facility in Europe. We already have one and it’s going to be bigger.”

“One of our goals is to start a WEC team, hopefully within the next few years,” said Michael Andretti.

“Le Mans is a clear target for us. Our target is to participate in all the major racing events in the world. And obviously Le Mans is one of the big ones. So for the future. We definitely want to be there.”

Andretti-Cadillac has yet to say which manufacturer’s engine it will use if its F1 entry is approved. Rumor has it that he will team up with Honda, who are considering a return to F1 in 2026.

Andretti has rivalries with Chevrolet in IndyCar and Cadillac and General Motors in IMSA, but if the partnership with Honda expands to IndyCar, IMSA and WEC, a similar partnership is expected in F1.
