Andrée Cossette leaves the management of Ubisoft Quebec

Ubisoft Quebec Director Andrée Cossette announced today that she is leaving the video game giant after 22 years to begin a new professional chapter.

Cossette had collaborated in the early days of Ubisoft Montreal before founding Ubisoft Quebec in 2005 with Nicolas Rioux. In a publication LinkedIn, she explains that her decision is the result of a long reflection, which is not linked to the recent upheavals within the Ubisoft Group.

“The role of general manager of the studio brought me great challenges and I was able to put in place an ambitious plan for the future. At the same time, I started a deeper, more personal reflection, which allowed me to realize that I was no longer where I wanted to be and that it was time for me to pass the torch and think about ‘other projects for the future’, we can read on the social network.

Contacted by Weighs in on Start, Ubisoft Quebec would like to point out that Cossette’s departure is in no way associated with the recent allegations of misconduct affecting certain studios of the company.

“The departure of Andrée Cossette is in no way associated with recent allegations of inappropriate behavior concerning certain Ubisoft employees. This is Andrée’s personal decision, carefully considered and taken long before current events. Over the past 22 years, Andrée has been a pillar in the establishment of Ubisoft in Canada, first in Montreal, then in Quebec, where she participated in the founding of the studio which now shines internationally. We would like to warmly thank her for her commitment and contribution to the development of Ubisoft. We wish him the best for his future projects. The management team in place will take over the interim to ensure an adequate transition. ”

Ubisoft Quebec has developed several important titles for the French company, including Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The studio is currently working on Gods & Monsters, a game planned for this year.
