André van Duin is working on an album with covers of songs by the French singer Charles Aznavour. The singer and comedian told in the program of Eddy Keur on NH Radio that he was approached by a record company for it.
Van Duin recently sang a version of Aznavours La Bohème during one of the last broadcasts of The world goes on. This performance was so well received that it gave an idea for an entire record.
“La Bohème was actually the reason and then a record company called immediately, “said Van Duin about the plans to release the album.
“I have to translate all those songs and French is not my first language, of course. It takes a lot of effort to make something of it, because I want to keep the original a bit,” explained Van Duin.
Van Duin said that it will take some time before the record is released, but hopes to be able to release it in the autumn.
