Karaday’s response was in the same sharp tone: “Yes, Mr. President, my homeland is Bulgaria and for all 51 years I have, they are absolute and definite proof of that. But apart from homeland, if we look at my great-great homeland … “
“I heard another statement from you before foreign authorities a few months ago. Therefore, I hope you are sincere in these words,” Radev replied.
“I can’t stand idly by when the Bulgarian president asks what is the motherland of MRF Chairman Mustafa Karadayi. We can ask the same question to the Bessarabian Bulgarians, to the Moldavian Bulgarians. Every ethnic group that does not live on the territory of its country has a homeland and a country of origin. And to ask exactly that part of the society, which has proved that it carries Bulgaria in its heart, whose rights have been violated, which could have left Bulgaria, but did not do so “, defended the leader of his party, Yordan Tsonev.
He also compared the case of Kiril Petkov with similar cases in the past – the dual citizenship of Georgi Pirinski and George Ganchev.
“President Radev is obviously nervous. This is understandable in the current political situation, “Karaday said in a comment to reporters after the meeting. He added that with anti-MRF rhetoric and incitement to hatred can not solve any of the crises, which the country faces, and those who use it are trying to cover up their political weakness.
