What are the main measures contained in this climate plan? “This document has no less than 755 pages“, begins the journalist Pauline Forgue. What emerges are five major expenditure items. First, there are 60 billion dollars that will be allocated to renewable energies and their development. “But also 27 billion dollars for the research center, and a substantial redundancy for the environmental agencies“, she details.
But that’s not all. The American State also wishes to support its inhabitants in their energy transition, by granting them “an envelope of 7,500 dollars per inhabitant to buy an electric car“. Tax credits will be offered to industries and businesses. In total, this equates to the largest climate investment ever committed in the United States, at $ 370 billion. And it was time for this country which rejected 501 billion tons of CO2 since 1850.
