The inclusion of a third candidate in the presidential race could destabilize the campaign of the current head of state, Joe Biden, for the elections, reported France Press.
An American political movement calling itself “No Labels” and presenting itself as a national movement of reasonable Americans, has announced that it will begin the process of broadcasting a presidential candidate next week. So far, a specific name of a candidate has not been indicated, but American media reports that several politicians associated with the movement have refused to run for president.
Democratic officials have expressed concern that the move will take votes away from Biden, which could ultimately benefit Republican Donald Trump.
According to Mike Rawlings, the leader of the movement, 800 delegates will vote almost unanimously to support the nomination of a presidential candidate.
Ryan Clancy, in charge of the movement’s strategy, said that it will announce on March 14 a process to officially select a presidential candidate.
No Labels was founded in 2009 by Nancy Johnson, who was involved in fundraising for Democrats. The slogan of the movement is “Neither left nor right. Forward”. On the Internet, the movement is presented as a solution for the many voters who are not satisfied with a choice between Biden and Trump.
