An exceptional concert to close the organ festival

Composed of soprano Ulrike Van Cotthem, organist Christopher Hainsworth and trumpeter Nicolas Planchon, the ensemble Les trois souffles d’or will close the 2020 edition of the Orgue… et compagnie festival with an eclectic and joyful concert, Sunday 20 Septemberat 5.30 p.m. in the old cathedral. Linked by the love of music and the rare soprano-trumpet-organ combination, this international trio brings together a German singer, a New Zealand pianist and a French trumpeter.

Ulrike Van Cotthem studied singing, piano, dance, theater, choir and orchestral conducting as well as pedagogy in Germany, before continuing his lyric training in France. First prize with first class honors from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, Nicolas Planchon is a member of the Paris Peacekeepers Orchestra and teaches at the Conservatoire de Nîmes. For about thirty years, mainly in the South and in New Zealand, Christopher Hainsworth has had a successful career as a soloist and accompanist on the organ, harpsichord and pianoforte. He is now the titular organist of Béziers Cathedral.
