The investment was initially announced in the spring of 2022, by representatives of an Austrian company, who said that the first tractor would roll off the production line in October 2023, but work on the assembly halls would only start this year.

“The Syn Trac company managed to establish the company in Romania in the meantime and told us that they are currently working on the documentation that will be submitted to us in order to be able to issue the building permit. Initially, it was hoped that the actual works would start this spring, but time is still needed to complete all the documentation. We hope that the works will start this year, as the investors promised, because this investment would bring development not only to our commune, but also to the county,” declared the mayor of Ghioroc commune, Corneliu Popi- Morodan.

The mayor said that the factory will operate in an industrial park that is being developed in Ghioroc, where three other foreign investments have been announced.

A medicine warehouse and a cannery

“There will also be a regional medicine warehouse, which is in the most advanced phase of implementation, a canning factory and a service for freight vehicles. The industrial park will have approximately 15 hectares,” said the mayor.

In April 2022, the manager of the consortium of companies that would operate in Ghioroc, Patrick Monac, had declared, during a press conference, that in the future factory around 400 tractors will be assembled annually, which will be sold especially in Europe by East. He said that the first tractor will roll off the assembly line in October 2023.

“Production in Romania will be focused on all Eastern European countries and the Middle East. This year (2022 – no) we will also develop the project for the factory of trailers and hydraulic mechanisms and gearboxes. There will be over a hundred places of work in the first phase, and in four to five years we will reach 600 jobs. The investment will be over 400 million euros, on an area of ten hectares. We already have an order for 1500 tractors, of which 40 for Romania”, declared Patrick Monac.

Romania will produce tractors for Eastern Europe and the Middle East

He stated that the same company produces around 400 tractors a year in Austria, with a number of 85 employees, given that the factory there is a robotic one.

The owner of Syn Trac, Stefan Putz, had declared, in the same press conference, that the tractor model that will be assembled in Ghioroc can reach a speed of 110 kilometers per hour, has unique working capabilities, benefiting from patented technologies.

“For 30 years I have been building machines that are now found all over the world. I am also a little inventor and I found something new in these tractors, which are unique. For example, these machines do not have the engine in front, like all machines, but under floor, and this gives us the opportunity to make connections with mechanisms in the front and back. In 60 seconds, the transition is made from agriculture to communal works, to cleaning forests or other activities,” says Stefan Putz.
