Zurich – Zurich is becoming a city of art. With the «Art Salon Zürich», Zurich opens a new stage for artists and galleries. 30 national and international galleries exhibit paintings, photographs, sculptures and objects. The focus is on contemporary art, mostly after 1960. Modern, exciting and collectible contemporary art. The Swiss artists in particular will be exhibited from 28 September to 2 October 2022.
The initiators, the fair organizer Sven Eisenhut and the gallery owner and curator Fabian J. Walter, want to create a new stage for the Swiss art market with the “Art Salon Zurich” and break with established artistic dogmas and fixed structures. “We consciously expose ourselves to fair competition and want to give a platform to young art and to positions that are still little known”, explains curator Fabian J. Walter. “The driving force of the exhibition is the passion, dynamism and creativity of the artists”.
It is aimed at a young and open-minded audience and at the same time at the entire artistic community. Because art must not be reserved for the establishment, but must appeal to a large and interested community. The first edition of the “Art Salon Zurich” will take place from 28 September to 2 October 2022 at the SBB headquarters in Zurich Altstetten. The ideal location for the art fair is the program. Because the platform area between the central station and Altstetten is one of the last major development areas in the city of Zurich.
From Art Leasing to NFT
30 galleries show a broad spectrum of 300 artists. These include the Galleria Havana in Zurich, which places handcrafted works in an international contemporary context. Or the Kunstforum Solothurn, considered a stronghold of the art of ceramics nationally and worldwide. Galerie Soon in Zurich will exhibit the latest innovations in the progressive NFT area, while Philipp Kehl will be present with his renowned Zurich Bildhalle.
