Neumayr leaves the penalty gift
Diligent in defense behavior, toothless like a newborn baby on the offensive: Aarau is optically superior in the second half, but there are no more chances from the game. The wind against which the FCA plays after the change of sides complicates the attack efforts, but must not be an excuse for the lack of ideas. And certainly not for the 87th minute, when Markus Neumayr leaves a penalty gift from the guests.
In the end, the conclusion of a match visitor fits quite well: “Schaffhausen did not win this game, but FC Aarau lost it.” The guests will not care about the fact that they came about: They distance themselves by seven points with the first victory since October 5, 2019 from relegation rank.
