Spectacular newcomer to the Leipzig Kings! For the coming season of the European League of Football, the Saxons signed Shida Wang (33) – the first Chinese in the continental league with twelve clubs from five nations!
The defensive back and wide receiver is considered a football pioneer in his homeland. He is the captain of the Chinese national team.
Kings head coach Fred Armstrong: “Shida Wang is an outstanding athlete and very versatile, which makes him extremely valuable to us. He loves the challenge and the competition.”
Interesting: The Kings wanted to sign Wang a year ago. At that time, however, it failed due to formalities. Twelve months later, they are in luck!
Wang: “I am very proud to represent my country and my sport in the European League of Football. Thank you to the Kings officials and head coach Fred Armstrong for giving me this opportunity. I will do my best to win games with the team.”
The ELF season starts on June 4th with the Istanbul Rams duel at the Cologne Centurions. On June 5th, Wang will make his debut in Leipzig’s game against Panthers Wroclaw in Poland.
