American Actress Elizabeth Hubbard Dies at 89

American actress Elizabeth Hubbard has died. She passed away last weekend at the age of 89, her son announced on Facebook. Hubbard was best known for her role in the American soap opera As the World Turns, in which she played the role of Lucinda Walsh for 26 years. In 2009, she had a guest role in Good times Bad Times.

“It is with a broken heart that I am sorry to say that my mother passed away this weekend,” Hubbard’s son Jeremy said.

Hubbard starred as businesswoman Lucinda Walsh from 1984 to 2010 As the World Turns, for which she received an Emmy nomination several times. She won an Emmy for her role in 1974 The Doctors and in 1976 she won a second for her work in the TV movie First Ladies Diaries: Edith Wilson.

In 2009, Hubbard resurfaced Good times Bad Times. She played the role of sexologist Sair Poindexter, the American mother of Irene Huygens (Anita Donk) and grandmother of Ronja (Alexandra Alphenaar) and Dex (Emiel Sandtke). Hubbard lived in the Netherlands at the time because her partner was from the Netherlands.
