American actor Ned Beatty (83) dies, known for “Deliverance” and “Superman”

Ned Beatty, not related to actor Warren Beatty, appeared in dozens of – mainly American – films in special character roles. He didn’t miss his film debut in 1972. In the survival thriller”Deliverance” by director John Boorman, in which four businessmen go on a canoe trip, Ned Beatty was raped by a man in an infamously gruesome scene that made him “scream like a pig”.
