Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Elon Musk reportedly lost US$50 billion or Rp. 710 trillion (assuming Rp.14,200/US$). This is a result of Tesla’s stock continues to decline for two days in a row.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the second day’s decline was the largest, quoted from Yahoo Finance, Wednesday (10/11/2021).
Jeff Bezos had previously experienced this in a one-day drop of $36 billion (Rp 512 trillion) following his divorce from MacKenzie Scott in 2019.
Tesla’s stock decline came after Elon asked his Twitter followers over the weekend about an option to sell 10% of his company. This news follows when Kimbal, his brother also sold shares right before the poll was conducted.
Next, Michael Burry, the investor best known for the film The Big Short said Elon Musk might want to sell shares. Because the Tesla boss wants to cover his personal debt.
With this decline in wealth further narrows the gap between Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos as the world’s richest person with US $ 83 billion.
Elon Musk first surpassed Jeff Beozs in January last year. Then the wealth gap between the two widened to US $ 143 billion (Rp 2,035 trillion), a number that is much larger than the total net worth of Bill Gates, who is fourth in the world.

Oracle Corp founder, Larry Ellison lost US $ 2.1 billion or Rp 29.8 trillion. He is the company’s second largest individual shareholder.
