Ambras Castle: Action afternoons offer small and fine surprises

INNSBRUCK. An experience of Schloss Ambras Innsbruck and the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music of a different kind. Instead of the traditional Schlossfest Ambras, Schloss Ambras Innsbruck and the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music have come up with something new this year and programmed two action afternoons: “The Castle!” calls and visitors stroll through the castle from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and experience small, fine surprises when they visit the museum.

Prelude

The first afternoon of the action took place on August 8th in bright sunshine. Around 1,000 guests were received in front of the castle by the stilt group Ristretto and the artists from the Circus Meer. Music from the ensemble rosarum flores and Galna Humlor played within the venerable walls of the castle. The famous collections of Archduke Ferdinand II from Schloss Ambras Innsbruck were open to the public to explore. There were also guided tours for the whole family in costumes of the time. Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Mona Lisa could be admired as a living picture, played by Chris Channing. Fausto Henrique Tenorio de Souza and Frowin the juggler played jokes here and there. The Dresch-Flegel met the original armor of the Ambras armory. At the Innpro improvisation theater, the audience itself was the focus and was involved in conversations. Finally, the visitors could write down their dreams and hang them on the wish tree of the Hofgartenfreunde.

2nd action afternoon

The second action afternoon of “Das Schloss ruft!” take place on August 15th. The highlight will be the I Zefirelli music ensemble. The program items were designed for both action afternoons so that there is no long and crowded lingering at individual locations. The actions are laid out as a course on which visitors walk through the museum at the designated safety distance via a one-way regulation. The specially trained staff in the castle ensure compliance with the security requirements.
