A very expensive failure too, because the jury imposed a total of 15 million dollars (more than 14 million euros) in compensation for Amber Heard. It concerns 10 million dollars (almost 9.4 million euros) in “compensatory damages” and 5 million dollars (almost 4.7 million euros) in “punitive damages”.
But in the end she does not have to pay that amount in full: because the law in the state of Virginia limits the latter category to 350,000 dollars (almost 330,000 euros), Depp gets “only” 10,350,000 dollars (more than 9.7 million euros).
