More than eighteen thousand people lose their jobs at the American giant of the web Amazon. CEO Andy Jassy has notified staff of this.
From 18 January, employees will be notified who has lost their job. These are mainly office workers, who are active in the so-called e-commerce and human resources department.
About 6% of the approximately 300,000 employees lose their jobs.
Not long ago, Amazon actually raised salary scales to attract staff. After Walmart, Amazon is the largest employer in the United States with over 1.5 million employees.
