Most of the industries are suffering from the corona crisis and many companies – including in Austria – are struggling to survive. The mail order company Amazon, on the other hand, urgently needs new employees. That’s why the online retail giant plans to hire 100,000 warehouse and delivery employees in the United States to cope with the surge in online orders due to the coronavirus epidemic. The company will invest $ 350 million to increase hourly wages for workers in the United States by two dollars and in Europe by about two euros.
US employees are currently receiving $ 15 an hour.
