Riauaktual.com – Recent and rare footage shows the largest planet in the solar system being hit by an unidentified object.
The incident was caught on camera by José Luis Pereira, an amateur astronomer from Brazil.
He then posted the footage on his YouTube channel which went viral.
“I’m an avid planetary observer,” he said as quoted from Space.com.
“When the planets Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars are opposite, I try to make an image every night that allows clear skies. Especially Jupiter, my favorite,” he added.
According to the report, the incident was captured from Sao Caetano do Sul, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Luckily for him, he’s ready with his gear aimed at the planet, as on any other night, considering he’s trying to track everything about the planet for the DeTeCt program.
