Although the Faucet is Opened, CPO Exports Can’t Be Done, Palm Oil FFB Prices Are Cheap

BANGKAPOS.COM, BANGKA – After opening the faucet CPO export and its derivatives, starting Monday (23/5/2022) the development of the selling price of oil palm FFB at the palm oil mill company (PKS) level, such as at PT GCM, Tiang Tara Village, Bakam District in Bangka Regency, had increased little by little, starting at Rp. .200-2270 per kg.

Before the export faucet was opened, the price of FFB for palm oil was only Rp. 1,600-Rp. 1,700 per kg

Then the price development, Tuesday (24/5/2022) rose again to Rp2,370 per kg of FFB, even Saturday (28/5/2022) to Rp2,440 per kg of FFB (highest price).

Prices were stagnant, until Thursday (2/6/2022), the price of oil palm FFB at PT GCM began to decline to IDR 2,290 per kg of FFB, then Friday (3/6/2022) it fell again to IDR 2,220 per kg. Saturday (4/6/2022) it fell again to IDR 2,160 per kg.

And as of today, Sunday (5/6/2022), the price of oil palm FFB is only IDR 2,210 per kg of FFB.

Responding to fluctuations in the price of smallholder FFB at the current level of PKS companies, which tend to be stable, cheap or have not returned to above the normal price of Rp. 3,000 per kg of FFB, Chairman of the Indonesian Oil Palm Farmers Association (APKASINDO) Bangka Regency, Jamaludin alias Typek admitted that he was confused to see that the price of smallholder FFB at the PKS company had not increased significantly, only in the range of IDR 2,200-2,440 per kg.

“Even for only a few days, it rose to around Rp. 2,440 per kg of FFB, after that it tends to decrease again, even though CPO export and its derivatives have been opened since last Monday (23/5/2022),” he said JamaludinSunday (5/6/2022).

He admitted, the condition of oil palm FFB prices that have not improved so far is quite worrying for smallholder oil palm farmers.

“We estimate that over time the price of palm oil FFB will drop even more, because I have received information that until now there are no PKS companies in Indonesia that have been able to export CPO and cooking oil abroad,” he said. Jamaludin.

He revealed, from information from the entrepreneurs of the PKS company, that they are still having difficulty managing or obtaining administrative permits for CPO export abroad, because they have not received permission from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade (Kemendag).
