In Ukraine, more than 26 thousand new infections have been confirmed in the last day, the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic. 576 deaths have been confirmed, and the country ranks fourth in the world after the United States, Russia and India.
The situation is complicated in the capital, Kiev, where more than 1,400 new infections and 39 deaths are registered every day.
The mayor of the city Vitaly Klichko announced that after the school holidays, studies in educational institutions will take place remotely from Monday. Passengers on public transport will be required to present a Covid-19 vaccination certificate or a negative test result. Such a requirement is imposed on employees and visitors of cinemas, gyms and other public places.
Similar restrictions have been imposed in other regions and cities of Ukraine severely affected by the pandemic.
