Almost all people were evacuated from Azovstal in Mariupol

According to the president, the structure is complex, it was agreed that intermediaries, Western partners would deal with the unblocking.

Almost all the people who were on the territory of the plant were evacuated from Azovstal in Mariupol.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview on the occasion of the third anniversary of the inauguration.

“Civilians, doctors, seriously wounded have been taken out. At this moment, people are also being taken out. It seems to me that in the near future, even, not one of these days, but the time will be completed, the removal of all,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He added that the fighters from Azovstal received an order that they have every right to go out and save their lives.

As you know, on May 17, the Ministry of Defense announced the start of an operation to rescue the defenders of Mariupol blocked on the territory of the plant.

According to the MOU, on May 16, 53 seriously wounded were evacuated from Azovstal to a medical facility in Novoazovsk.

Another 211 people were taken to Olenevka through the humanitarian corridor. To return them home, an exchange procedure will be carried out.

On May 18, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, said that the process of evacuating the defenders of Azovstal continues and is complicated.

Today, May 20, the commander of the Azov Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Denis Prokopenko, in a video message expressed the hope that dead heroes from Azovstal will be able to bury in the near future with honours.
