At the airports in Hanover and Bremen, almost all of the airline’s flights are canceled on the second day of the strike by Lufthansa cabin crew. At Hanover Airport, only two of the planned 16 departures to Frankfurt and Munich are likely to be carried out on Friday, as an airport spokeswoman said in the morning. The situation at Bremen Airport is similar. According to a spokeswoman, only one of 12 planned Lufthansa flights will be able to start. At both airports, the connections to Frankfurt and Munich are therefore almost completely canceled.
Due to the strike, 11 flights had already been canceled in Hanover on Thursday. There were 8 flight cancellations in Bremen. The Ufo union had called for the 48-hour strike. It demands higher expenses and allowances as well as better access for seasonal workers in the regular employment relationships of Lufthansa. The strikes already had an effect on Thursday: After a month-long pause, Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr said that they were now looking to talk to the UFO cabin union again. Ufo agreed to the proposal.
