Allsang on the border is taken off the screen

After 15 seasons, it is now coming to an end for the popular TV 2 program. This summer’s program will be the very last, the channel reports in a press release.

– When we now choose to think new, we do it with the certainty that we also go down with the “flag at the top”. We close the Allsang chapter with still good viewership, and with a closing season that will be fantastic, says channel director Trygve Rønningen.

He pays tribute to Halden and the spirit of hard work:

TV 2 has been so well received in Halden and at Fredriksten Fortress in all these years. Even now during the pandemic, we have together managed to create fantastic programs. Hopefully this summer we can fill the stands with singing-loving audiences of all ages, he says.

Katrine Moholt (48) has led the program every summer for 16 years. She says she is looking forward to a longer summer vacation next year:

– This project has been a joy from day one. And that we have been able to make the program for so long is simply fantastic in a TV time where renewal and change happen so fast. We have made something that has meant a lot to the summers for people, says Moholt to TV 2.

Mayor Anne-Kari Holm (Sp) in Halden municipality is looking forward to a fantastic end to the “Allsang” adventure.

– In Halden, we have been proud to be the host city for “Allsang på grensen”. Every summer for 15 years, many thousands of visitors have experienced a good atmosphere in the summer town of Halden due to this TV 2 program. Even more have become acquainted with Fredriksten Fortress and our city via the TV screen. The all-singing audience will always be welcome to Halden and so will TV 2. Now we are looking forward to a final summer with the all-singing group – a season we have heard will be the best of all time, says mayor of Halden Anne-Kari Holm.

Now the municipality is looking forward to creating new cultural experiences at Fredriksten fortress.

– We in Halden will miss “Allsang på grensen”. It will be demanding to replace 30,000 visitors and attention on TV 2, but the all-singing has also given us a lot to build on. This TV 2 program has shown Norway and international artists what an incredibly beautiful arena Fredriksten Fortress is. After the choir came to Halden, the fortress has been developed even more as a cultural arena. Other events have been added here precisely because of the TV pictures from the all-singing. And many in Halden have built up solid expertise in events and TV productions over the years. Therefore, we thank the choir for nice summer memories and are convinced that we will soon welcome new organizers and producers to the event city Halden, says municipal director Roar Vevelstad in Halden municipality.

Trond Lie is the general manager of Allsang at Grensen AS. The company has produced the program for TV 2 in recent years.

– It is sad to say goodbye to something we are all so happy about. But when a door closes, there are many new doors that can be opened. We look forward to continuing to contribute with events and create life at Fredriksten Fortress in the years to come. Here it is important to think new and find your place together with other producers and organizers. In this way, the total offer at the unique Fredriksten fortress and in the event city of Halden can be at least as good in the time to come. The most important thing we can do now is to make the best ending of all time on “Allsang”, and we will release the first tickets today, says Trond Lie.
