Background: The FC Bayern and city rivals TSV 1860 Munich had planned and built the arena at the time.
The cost of the loan for the construction quickly overwhelmed the “Munich Lions”, which is why the Giesinger had to sell their stake in the football temple to the unloved neighbors – for a manageable eleven million euros at the time.

Munich: The rivalry between FC Bayern and TSV 1860 is alive
