US carmaker Ford announces that by mid-2026, all vehicles produced by the company will be zero-emission, fully electric or plug-in hybrid, moving to fully electric versions by 2030. With this target, the company is preparing to other changes: the 2.5-liter Duratec hybrid engine, which is currently produced at the Ford plant in Chihuahua, Mexico, will be produced at the plant in Valencia, Spain, from the end of 2022, and Ford Mondeo production will gradually close 2022, writes News.ro.
“Ford announced today that it will continue to invest in an electrified future for its operations in Valencia. The new 2.5-liter Duratec hybrid engine will be built at its engine plant in Spain at the end of 2022, and Ford will also increase its battery assembly capacity, ”the company said.
