All matches of the group stage of the Champions League path of the Youth League 2022/23

Group stage matches of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League path of the UEFA Youth League begin on 6 September and run until 2 November.

The eight group winners go directly to the round of 16. The runners-up will meet the winners of the national champions path in the February play-offs to compete in home and away matches for the remaining spots. As usual, the tournament will conclude with a four-team final tournament in Nyon, Switzerland in April.

Team news

• Together with reigning champions Benfica (who also won the first U20 Intercontinental Cup in August), all former champions are involved, including the two-time champions Barcelona and Chelsea, as well as Porto, Real Madrid and Salzburg ( who missed the end of 2022).

• Ajax, Atlético, Barcelona, ​​Bayern, Benfica, Juventus, Man City, Paris, Porto and Real Madrid maintain the perfect record of participation in all nine editions of this competition, which began in 2013/14.

• Eintracht, on its debut, becomes the 11th German competitor, a record.

• Benfica beat Juventus on penalties in the 2022 semi-finals after losing the 2-0 lead in Nyon.

• Last season, both games between Atlético and Porto ended in an away win (1-2), and the win on Matchday 6 brought the Spanish side into the play-offs at the Portuguese’s expense.

• Both Barcelona and Bayern did not qualify after being drawn in the same group in 2021/22; their clashes ended with two local victories.
