Hardly any manufacturer manages to keep the complete technical data under lock and key until the official launch. This was also not possible with the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Both devices use a Snapdragon 865 from Qualcomm as the basis. This means that the 5G network can also be used with the smartphone at the same time. Depending on the memory configuration, the SoC is provided with either 8 or 12 GB LPDDR5 memory. Depending on the selection, the internal memory will be 128 or 256 GB.
OnePlus 8 Pro offers a 120 Hz OLED
The biggest difference between the devices can be found in the built-in display. The OnePlus 8 has a diagonal of 6.55 inches and the AMOLED display has a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels at a frequency of 90 Hz. The Pro variant, on the other hand, will offer 6.78 inches at 3,168 x 1,440 pixels. The frequency is also higher at 120 Hz.
There are further differences in the rear cameras. The OnePlus 8 comes with a main sensor with 48 megapixels and the ultra wide-angle sensor resolves with 16 megapixels. There is also a macro camera with 2 megapixels. The OnePlus 8 Pro, on the other hand, will also use 48 megapixels for the main sensor, but will also get 48 megapixels for the ultra-wide angle and an additional telephoto zoom with 8 megapixels. In addition, another 5 megapixel sensor improves the recordings. On the front, however, both devices will dissolve with 16 megapixels.
Only the OnePlus 8 Pro supports wireless charging
The battery is estimated at 4,300 mAh for its little brother and 4,510 mAh for the Pro. The latter can also be charged wirelessly with up to 30 W. Both devices are charged with cables up to 30 W. The weight of the OnePlus 8 Pro is said to be around 200 g, while the OnePlus 8 is said to weigh 180 g.
However, the sales price for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro remains unclear. But this question will be answered after the presentation next week at the latest.
