Chaos refunds
Following theAntitrust investigation for consumer complaints, Alitalia has promised to refund tickets for all flights canceled since June 3 with an automatic procedure. In this case, the consumer is left with the decision whether to receive a voucher or a cash refund. The Competition and Market Authority, in fact, had initiated an investigation and a sub-precautionary proceeding against the airline accused of selling flights that were later unilaterally canceled, due to the spread of Covid-19. In the view of the authority, the offer to consumers of only the voucher for transport services to be carried out in a period and for destinations where there are no more traffic limits established by government measures. All without providing adequate information and assistance.
