Aliança accuses Marcelo and Government of colluding with CGTP concentrations – Observer

The Alliance party on Saturday accused the Government and President of the Republic of conniving with the concentrations carried out by CGTP-IN on Friday, Labor Day, and holds them responsible if there is an “abnormal increase” in the number of infected with covid-19.

This position on the celebrations of the 1st of May by the General Confederation of Portuguese Workers – National Intersindical (CGTP-IN) appears in a statement released by the Aliança party, signed by the executive director of this political force, Bruno Ferreira Costa.

“Aliança strongly condemns the way in which the demonstrations of the 1st of May organized by CGTP-IN throughout the country take place. At a time when the state of emergency is in force and travel between municipalities is prohibited, it is incomprehensible that the aforementioned demonstrations were authorized, despite the effort of all Portuguese people in complying with the confinement rules in force to date ” up on this note.

For the Aliança party, “to CGTP-IN, as well as to the Government, the Assembly of the Republic and the President of the Republic [Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa], who authorized and were conniving with these manifestations, it will be up to take responsibility for any abnormal increase in the number of infected cases in the coming days ”.
