Algarve has 3 new cases, Alentejo with 6 more

The Algarve has three more cases of Covid-19 and the Alentejo registers six new ones, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) of this Monday, 29th of June.

Thus, the Algarve has, in accumulated numbers since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 615 cases of Covid-19. The number of deaths, for DGS, remains at 15.

As for the Alentejo, with these 6 new cases, the region reaches an accumulated total of 477. DGS still does not indicate, in today’s bulletin, the fourth death of an elderly woman from the home of Reguengos de Monsaraz, known this Monday, which would bring the total number of deaths to 6.

At the national level, the number of people infected with the new coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic is 41,912, 266 more than yesterday.

As for deaths, there are 4 more today than yesterday, bringing the cumulative total to 1568. Three of these deaths occurred in the region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and one in the North.

Data from the epidemiological bulletin further indicate that, since yesterday and at the national level, there are 139 more recovered, bringing to 27,205 the number of people who have already recovered from Covid-19.

This Monday, this is the distribution of cases by region, in numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic: Lisbon and Tagus Valley (18977, plus 225), North (17501, plus 25), Center (4100, plus 6) , Algarve (615, plus 3), Alentejo (477, plus 6), Azores (150, plus 1) and Madeira (92, with no new cases).

Today, in the country’s hospitals, there are 489 people hospitalized, 31 more than yesterday, but 4 less in intensive care (total of 71).

Also according to the epidemiological bulletin, there are 1498 people awaiting laboratory results and 31,310 contacts under surveillance by health authorities.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Portugal, there have been a total of 378,073 suspected cases, but 334,663 of them have not been confirmed.
