In this situation, the top leader tried to clarify that this audit was carried out by notable bullfighting fans and not by the current leadership and that there are amounts that must be clarified. One of these would be the debt that was generated in wages of Michael Arroyo, who was sanctioned for doping in late 2018.
“An agreement was already reached with the player in December last year, where Arroyo himself gave up an important part of the outstanding values,” he said. Alfaro Moreno in an interview with WQ Radio.
The debt with ‘Gambetita’ would correspond to bonuses, prizes, repurchase of his pass and other assets.
“They are values corresponding to bonuses, prizes, repurchase of his pass; among others. They are not pending wages, since now, with the new control, the club that is not up to date cannot play the next game,” said the manager.
As for basic services, the leader was clear. He assured that it is an issue that should be reviewed, because when the Ministry of Sport (currently the Sports Secretariat), it was agreed that the payment of these items should be minimal. The amount is USD 3 million for concepts of water and light.
Alfaro Moreno confirmed that the highest debt indicator is aimed at public entities.
“It is another figure that should be reviewed. Before, when there was the Ministry of Sport, in an agreement with the Ecuadorian Football Federation, it was agreed that the clubs do not pay these values or pay a lower percentage. We will have to review it, “he said.
The top executive also clarified that some sponsors decided to withdraw, suspend their payments and withdraw the agreement that they maintained. “For now, Barcelona lives off brands,” he said.
