Alfa Romeo would be working on a luxury sports sedan to forcefully enter the E segment. The arrival of Jean-Philippe Learned and the new positioning as a premium brand wanted by Stellantis, will lead the Biscione to develop some new models, among which there would also be a new car with a dynamic design and an appearance that would recall that of Tonale, the second SUV of the Arese car manufacturer that it should be unveiled in its final version between September and October.
At that time of the year, Imparato will unveil the new industrial plan of the Italian brand, in which the development project of the premium line should also be present. In the past there was talk of a return of the name Alfetta, a plausible hypothesis that would allow the brand to remain connected to its past but it is possible that other names of the Alfa Romeo tradition are also used or that a completely new nomenclature is chosen. It is clear, however, that the Biscione will pursue the new premium vocation by focusing on a new sports sedan, which would still exploit the Giorgio platform and its vocation for rear-wheel drive, offering a range of traditional engines (petrol and diesel) and some electrified solutions, from full hybrid to plug-in hybrid. The new number one from Arese would thus carry forward the project marked by sportsmanship that he would have started in Peugeot if he had remained at the helm of the Leone. At the same time, Imparato will thus make it possible not to stray Alfa Romeo too far from its DNA and the characteristics that have made it famous all over the world. Its arrival on the market is expected in 2025, with the official debut already by the end of 2024.

To do this, however, it will be essential to be able to count on Tonale and on the future Brenner B-SUV. The launch of the series version of the show car that has now debuted in March 2019 will allow sales to have a much needed boost to convince even the top management of Stellantis to continue to focus on the Biscione.
