The piano cycle organized by the Artistic and Cultural Extension Center of the University of Chile, CEAC, returns this January with its fourth version, this time dedicated to the work of Bach. Thus, the first of the concerts will be held this Wednesday, January 12 at 5:00 p.m., by the outstanding national pianist, Alexandros Jusakos.
Graduated with a degree in Superior Interpretation, Piano Mention, from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile, the performer also obtained a Master of Arts from the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music and a Doctor of Arts from the Federico Chopin Musical University in Warsaw, Poland. Winner of two Special Prizes at the IX “Príncipe Antonio Radziwill” International Pianistic Competition, in Poland (1996) and Claudio Arrau Prize 2001, he also won second prize at the first International Competition for Piano Teachers, Warsaw 2013. Jury in important competitions in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Poland, he has participated as a soloist with important orchestras both in our country and abroad and has made recordings for radio and television in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, United States. , Poland, Greece and China, recording 12 CD’s with part of their repertoire.
Jusakos will be in charge of interpreting Italian Concerto: Adagio, Presto; Prelude and Fugue No. 5 D Major The Well-Tempered Clavier Book I; Prelude and Fugue No. 6 D minor The Well-Tempered Clavier Book I; Prelude and Fugue No. 5 D Major The Well-Tempered Clavier Book II; Prelude and Fugue No. 6 D minor The Well-Tempered Clavier Book II; and Partita Nº1: Praeludium, Allemande, Courante, Sarabande, Menuet I and Menuet II, Y Gigue.
After the presentation of the pianist from Antofagasta, it will be the turn of Danor Quinteros – on January 19 – and the pianist Paulina Zamora, who will close the cycle on January 26 at the same time (5:00 p.m.).
The three concerts included in the series will be open to the public, with a general subscription of $8,000, through CEAC or by email [email protected].
