Alexander Molldén was ready for Kristianstad in the Hockeyallsvenskan.
After the forced relegation, the 28-year-old back goes to league newcomer Nybro instead.
Last season he played for Mora and the season before for Malmö in the SHL.
Kristianstad was forcibly relegated from the Hockeyallsvenskan after not having passed the elite license.
Kalmar has instead been given the place and now joins arch-rival Nybro in the second highest league.

Offensively skilled
Many of the players in Kristianstad are now current for other clubs in the Hockeyallsvenskan.
Alexander Molldén, who had been recruited from Mora, now goes to Nybro instead.
It is a right-shooting, skilled and technical full-back, who with his offensive style of play and hard shots has powerplay qualities.
Nine new acquisitions
Newcomer Nybro with new head coach Tommy Samuelsson has previously done with Tex Williamsson, Modo, Rihards Marenis, Örebro, Daniel Ljungman, Rögle, Jesper Kandergård, Leksand, Gustav Karlsson, Örebro J20, Theo Nordlund, Sport, Aleksi Ainali, Kristianstad and Alex Tonge , Hellbronner Falcon.
In the premiere round on Friday 22 September, two Smålandsderby await, Nybro–Tingsryd and Västervik–Kalmar.
With Växjö, HV71 and Oskarshamn in the SHL, there are now seven Småland teams in the two highest leagues.
