Alexander Isak shines in training match ahead of Premier League season opener

Alexander Isak, 23, seems to have found form for the start of the Premier League next weekend.

In the training match against Fiorentina, there were both goals and assists.

On Saturday the twelfth of August, Newcastle start the Premier League season at home to Aston Villa.

And Alexander Isak seems to be in good shape before the premiere.

Goals and assists

In the first half, he played Miguel Almiron for the lead goal – and with eight minutes left in the game, he stepped forward himself.

Kieran Trippier swooped in a corner that Isak got on top of – and headed in the 2-0 goal to the great cheers of the home crowd.

– I was in a good surface. It was a good ball from Trippier. It was a nice goal, says Isak.

– I don’t always get to score with my head.

“Positive feeling”

2–0 was also the final result.

Isak was signed to Newcastle ahead of last season and had a strong first season in the Premier League. The Swede was noted for ten goals and two assists in 22 league games.

Isak is looking forward to the upcoming league premiere.

– I feel in good shape. I’ve had a good pre-season, I’ve been healthy. I have a good feeling (before the season), he says.
