20 students and six adults were killed in the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.

Alex Jones is a well-known conspiracy theorist and has claimed that the shooting never took place.

He has made claims on the website InfoWars that the school shooting was staged by actors.

The parents of the children who were killed have been harassed by Jones supporters for several years. They tell of threats, assaults and shots at houses and cars.

Therefore, the parents of one of the children who were killed have gone to trial and have now won.

– It is clear that Jones’ time on the American stage is finally coming to an end, says lawyer Mark Bankston, who represents the parents of CNN.

PARENTS: Neil Heslin, the father of the six-year-old boy, was clearly moved when he testified during the trial on Tuesday 2 August.

When Jones explained himself in court on Wednesday, he said it was irresponsible of him to claim that the school massacre was a hoax.

He assured that he is now convinced that the massacre really happened.

The punishment can be much harsher

The jury has decided that Alex Jones must pay at least 4.1 million dollars in compensation to relatives after the school shooting in 2012. This is the first part of the verdict.

The verdict came on Thursday afternoon local time. The trial is taking place in Austin, Texas.

On Friday, the jury will decide on the demand from the parents for 75 million dollars in “punitive damages”.

This is an additional penalty if the court finds the defendant’s actions or behavior to be particularly harmful, and is in addition to the $4.1 million in damages.

The parents of the six-year-old boy initially demanded 150 million dollars in compensation and restitution.

WITNESSES: Mark Bankston, the attorney for the parents, questions Jones during his Aug. 3 deposition.

Have requested messages from Jones

While the trial against Alex Jones is ongoing, the January 6 Committee has requested messages and e-mails from Jones.

It was recently revealed that the lawyers representing Jones allegedly accidentally sent text messages from Jones to the lawyers representing the Sandy Hook victims.

The text messages are said to have revealed that Jones has lied in his statements in court.

Jones reportedly said he never sent text messages about the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012, but the messages probably show that this is not true.

Alex Jones allegedly used his network to spread information about the storming of Congress on January 6, 2021, writes New York Times.
