Alcoy expands the recognitions in the 9 d’Octubre Awards. The sixth edition of this call will have a new welcome since, as announced by the edil de Cultura, Raül Llopis en Tragaluz, the Culture Council has decided to create a third category in these institutional awards.

A end of this month the term will end so that five commissions of this municipal body contribute the candidacies to choose the recipients or recipients of the distinctions in a personal, collective and memory capacity. Prizes that will be delivered on October 9 at a gala at the Teatre Calderón in which, also, a manifesto will be read and the Nova d’Alcoi Musical Society will offer a concert.
Deliveries since 2016
The 9 d’Octubre Awards were created in 2016 and in that first edition the individual award was awarded, precisely posthumously, to Joan Valls and the collective to the Alcoy Neighborhood Associations. In the following years, the distinctions in the individual category went to Román de la Calle, Sol Picó, Jordi Raül Verdú and Josep Maria Segura and the honor in the collective category went to Faula Teatre, Grup Excursionista d’Alcoi, Club d ‘ Amigues i Amics de la Unesco d’Alcoi ia the heroes of the coronavirus pandemic. In a few days, the three new winners will be known.
