ALCALÁ DE HENARES / JANUARY 2, 2020 / The steps taken by the Alcalá de Henares City Council have allowed install a burning chapel of Arsenio Lope Huerta at the Teatro Salón Cervantes.
In this way you can pay respect in a public place closely linked to Arsenio Lope Huerta, since the Cervantes Hall Theater was acquired by the Alcalá de Henares City Council during his tenure as mayor and it was there that he received the city’s gold medal.

The Salón Cervantes Theater presents characteristics that are more compatible with the protocols against COVID19 than the municipal funeral home facilities, it is a wide scenic space in which cultural programming is being developed on a regular basis and with protocols that can guarantee the entry flow and departure of people.

To express the mourning of the Municipal Corporation for such a painful loss, the City Council has decreed three days of official mourning and that the flags of the Town Hall fly at half-mast.
Mayor Javier Rodríguez Palacios has considered that “Alcalá emotionally dismisses a great person and a great mayor, who began the path of the recovery of the city and the rehabilitation of its historical heritage. In recognition of this work, he was awarded the city’s Gold Medal in February of this year ”.
