The president of the national PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, It has opened this morning in Santiago his first massive act with a view to the elections on July 23. He has chosen for his intervention the same scenario in which, a little over a year ago, he announced that he was competing for the presidency of the conservative formation.
In the lobby of a full Multiusos do Sar -with more than a thousand militants and supporters-, Feijóo has taken the first mass bath of the pre-campaign in his land. He has risen to shouts of “president, president” and, although he has refused to “trust himself” and has argued that he does not like to “show off”, he has admitted that he considers that “things are going well”.
As an example, he has used that he is beginning to face “the same thing” that preceded his Galician victories: “everyone insults me and the left spends more time with the lists than with their program.”
“I think things are going well”, he said in relation to the situation of the party and the expectations of a “final” victory at the polls. in his words there was a call to calm for all those party officials who are currently unaware of their future: “If we win, there will be room for a lot of people,” he said before recalling that he does not leave anyone who has been emptied of work for the party or who has had to resign from his family life.
The president of the PP insisted that on July 23 everyone has to go to vote whether they are 100 km away or 1,000. Even if for this they have to postpone the days of rest. But what is clear to him is that that day Sánchez’s stage must end: “Pedro Sánchez has accepted his defeat. We attended the end of the fireworks of the sanchismo”, he said in a pavilion with more than a thousand attendees.
In his speech, Feijóo I spare no criticism of PSOE. He has assured that if the PP wins in the elections, it will offer the Socialists “the historic opportunity to rebuild the party” as it was before the arrival of Sánchez.
“They know that they are going to have to distribute many positions because they are not going to govern. If the same thing happens here, it is because we are going to obtain an unappealable victory at the polls in all of Spain,” he asserted, before asserting that Sánchez “no longer has illusion” and to exemplify what happened in the Federal Committee.
“It was not as entertaining as the one in which they fired Sánchez, but it was not bad. There were purges on the lists, candidates who resigned en bloc and barons who did not go. Yesterday the ‘sanchismo’ congratulated those who lost 28M and the he shielded on his lists. And the few who remain in the socialist communities, he despised. 15 days ago Spain spoke and the ‘sanchismo’ has not understood anything”, he has ugly.
Prior to Feijóo’s speech, the president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, took the floor, who promised the greatest victory of the PP in Galicia, which, “again” would mark the path to follow in the rest of Spain: “They do not understand that Galicia is in fashion, that it leads the way and that it is going to be decisive”, exclaimed the man from Pontevedra.
