The Kominsky Method has to do without Alan Arkin in the third and final season, reports Deadline Thursday.
The actor is said to have decided not to return to the Netflix comedy shortly after the end of the second season. A reason for the decision has not been disclosed.
Netflix will not hire another actor to take over the role. The character Norman is written out of the series.
The Kominsky Method won a Golden Globe for Best Comedy Production in 2019. Michael Douglas, who plays an acting coach in the series, was awarded for his lead role. Arkin received a nomination for his supporting role as the manager of the character played by Douglas.
The last season of the comedy series was announced in July.
