Al-Ahly coach Rene Weiler announced the team’s list traveling to Zimbabwe to meet the Platinum team next Saturday in the fourth round of the African Champions League group stage.
The list witnessed the return of goalkeeper Sharif Ikrami after recovering from the injury, along with the presence of striker Marwan Mohsen after the rays that he had made on the face of the foot proved his ability to catch the match.
Feiler, the duo of Saleh Jumah and Salah Mohsen, were excluded from the list for technical reasons, in the absence of Hussein Al-Shahat, Hamdi Fathi, Saad Samir, Ramadan Sobhi, Mahmoud Wahid and Hussam Ashour.
The newcomer, Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim, “Kahraba”, was in the Al-Ahly list, after the club’s administrative body finished the procedures for enrolling the player in the team’s African list.
Al-Ahly’s list included 20 players as follows:
Goalkeepers: Mohamed El Shenawy – Sherif Ekramy – Ali Lotfy.
Defense: Ahmed Fathi – Muhammad Hani – Rami Rabia – Ayman Ashraf – Yasser Ibrahim – Mahmoud Metwally – Ali Maaloul.
Center: Alio Diang – Amr Al-Sulaya.
Amid the attack: Muhammed Magdi “Afsha” – Walid Suleiman – Ahmed Al-Sheikh – Geraldo da Costa – Junior Ajay.
In the attack: Marwan Mohsen – Walid Azaru – Mahmoud Abdel Moneim, “Kahraba”.
It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly collected six points in the first three rounds of the continental competition to equate with the Tunisian coastal star and the Sudanese Hilal, while Platinum eliminated the second group without points.
