Al-Shabab Club, which is ranked eleventh in the Saudi Football League, announced the departure of its Argentine playmaker Ever Banega, after all financial and contractual matters related to the deal were officially completed during the current period.
Al-Shabab Club wrote on its official account on the “X” website (formerly Twitter): “Farewell, Commander Ever Banega. He left us as a player, but he always remains in our hearts.”
Banega, 35, joined Al-Shabab in September 2020 from Sevilla, Spain, after he won the Europa League title for the third time after 2015 and 2016.
Banega, who won gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the 2007 World Youth Cup, participated with Al-Shabab in 94 league matches, scoring 18 goals and assisting 23 goals.
Banega defended the colors of Boca Juniors, and won the Libertadores Cup with him in 2007, and Valencia “was crowned with him as champion of the King’s Cup in 2008,” and Atletico Madrid, Seville of Spain, Newell’s Old Boys, and Inter Milan of Italy.
