Al-Ittihad Saudi Club announced on Thursday that its defender, Ahmed Sharahili, suffered an injury to his cruciate ligament.
He added: “The administrative and medical staff will finalize all arrangements for the surgical operation during the coming period.”
Sharahili was injured during Al-Ittihad’s match against Al-Fateh. He fell to the ground without coming into contact with an opposing player and left on a stretcher in the 72nd minute.
The injury is the second for Al-Ittihad defenders, after the injury of Egyptian Ahmed Hegazy against Al-Fayhaa, in the penultimate round of the Saudi Roshen League in the 2022-2023 season.
Sharahili (29 years old) started with Al-Ittihad in all of their matches in the Saudi League, until the seventh round.
