Telugu Warriors, a club of Telugu stars, has won the Celebrity Cricket League. The Telugu players defeated the Bhojpuri Dabangs team in the final match held at Visakhapatnam. Akhil Akkineni’s 67 off 32 balls in the first innings led the Telugu side to an easy victory. He also got the man of the match award. This is Telugu Warriors’ fourth title in CCL history.
Telugu captain Akhil Akkineni won the toss and elected to bowl. He said of the decision that the four-innings match could turn at any time and they were interested in chasing. This was confirmed by the game of Telugu Warriors. In the first innings interrupted by rain, Bhojpuri Dabangs scored 72 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 10 overs. Only Aditya Ojha, who scored 26 runs off 15 balls, could do anything.
In reply, Telugu Warriors scored 104 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 10 overs with the support of Akhil Akkineni’s cutting batting. Uday Tiwary scored 34 runs off 18 balls and Aditya Ojha scored 31 runs off 13 balls for Bhojpuri who struggled to take the lead they could in the second innings. But they could only score 89 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 10 overs. The lead gained in the first innings helped the Telugu Warriors in the final stages of the match. They needed just 58 runs off the last 60 balls to win the final of the CCL 2023 edition. They reached the target in just 6.2 overs. Telugu Warriors won the final by 9 wickets. Ashwin scored 31 runs off 21 balls and was the top scorer for Telugu Warriors in the last innings.
