air traffic resumes under surveillance at Rol airport

With the removal of compelling reasons to travel between Paris and Reunion, the number of flights is on the rise again. The activity of airlines is gradually resuming. From this Monday, 20 weekly rotations are planned, 25 will be from July 6.

Air traffic is gradually resuming at Roland Garros airport. From a dozen flights last week, it now goes to 20 rotations between Paris and Reunion this week. From July 6, 25 flights will be operated per week.

As of July 10, the date of the lifting of the state of health emergency, this number could still change. It is not yet known. The regional flights between Reunion and Mayotte are restored, but at the rate of a weekly connection for the moment. Travelers must demonstrate a compelling reason to board.

Security measures still in effect

If it is no longer necessary to justify a compelling reason to travel between the mainland and Reunion, and the capacity of airplanes as travelers is no longer restricted, certain rules remain in force.

the access to Gillot terminal is now open to all since this Saturday, June 27, but the wearing a mask is compulsory. Physical distance must also be respected in the queues. Shops, bars and food outlets are gradually resuming their activity there since this weekend.

Since June 19, the service to the terminal by the Car Jaune network and Aérobus has taken over.

Sanitary corridor maintained on arrival

On arrival, the health corridor protocol, introduced on June 9, remains in order. Passengers are thus invited to carry out a Covid-19 screening test 72 hours before their departure from Paris. If it is negative, they will be able to benefit from an accelerated procedure on arrival in Reunion and a lightened quarantine for 7 days.

Those who have not performed a test before leaving Paris must follow a longer route in arrival hall and observe a strict fortnight in a dedicated place or at home. Thermal imaging cameras will soon be deployed on the arrival passenger circuit.
