Deputy Secretary General PA 212, Novel Bamukmin claimed that his party did not have the authority to stop the masses from attending the East Jakarta District Court at this time trial reading verdict against the defendant Rizieq Shihab Thursday (26/6).

Novel emphasized that PA 212 would continue to oversee Rizieq’s trial until it was finished. He also promised to obey the health protocols and procedures made by the government so far.
He accused the public prosecutor of having been involved in politics in handling the case that befell Rizieq. In fact, he considered that the prosecutor had discriminated against and overruled the legal facts in the case.
However, Novel did not mention the prosecutor’s actions, which he said had politicized and discriminated against in the Rizieq case.
“It’s even crazier to make provocations to Muslims, especially Habib Rizieq’s lovers,” he said.
Seeing this, Novel left it entirely to Rizieq’s admirers to respond to the prosecutor’s actions during the trial. “We PA 212 leave it to Muslims, especially IB HRS lovers to respond to provocations made by the prosecutor,” he added.
Rizieq will undergo a trial for reading the verdict in the case of spreading false news (hoax) from the results of the corona virus (Covid-19) test at the Hospital, Bogor, West Java on Thursday (22/6).
Besides Rizieq, the case also ensnared his son-in-law Hanif Alatas and the President Director of the Ummi Andi Tatat Hospital.
Rizieq himself has been charged with six years in prison by the prosecutor in the case. Meanwhile, Hanif and Andi were sentenced to two years in prison.
Rizieq Shihab’s team of lawyers previously said they were optimistic that the panel of judges would grant his client’s request by canceling all of the prosecutor’s demands.
