Agriculture launches the second edition of the “Closing Productive Gaps” Program in wheat 2023/24

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Nation, within the framework of the “Plan Argentina 25 MT”, which seeks to improve and increase the production of wheat, informs that through Provision 1/2023 of the Undersecretary of Agriculture, the the second edition of the “Closing Productive Gaps” Program in Wheat for the 2023/24 campaign.

It should be noted that the Program was created on May 12, 2022 through Resolution N113/2022 and its objective is to reduce the yield gaps between wheat producers, through specialized technical assistance throughout the entire crop cycle (pre- seed to harvest).

The duration of the Program is foreseen for three campaigns. This cycle will seek to assist up to 1,000 producers from the different regions of the country, who plant up to 500 ha of wheat, and who, due to technological and management issues, in the last three campaigns have not been able to exceed the average yield of the department where they planted the wheat. crop.

Agricultural professionals -who must have active registration- may first register, and then register the producers they propose to advise (maximum 10 producers per professional and each one must comply with the established conditions).

For this edition, the Program will assume the cost of analyzing two soil samples per producer, thus providing professionals with a fundamental diagnostic tool to plan fertilization, and each producer with information on the status of their main resource.

The expected result of this Program is that the assisted producers increase their yields by reducing the existing gaps in their region when compared with other producers with high yield potential, and in turn with the average for their department.
