Agreement closed with general practitioners for home vaccinations of over-eighty-year-olds who cannot travel

The agreement between general practitioners and the Health Department of the Umbria Region for the home anti-virus vaccination of over 80s who will not be able to go to the vaccination points distributed throughout the region has been defined a few hours ago: the councilor Luca Coletto, “thanking once again the general practitioners for the great professionalism that, once again, they have shown by making themselves available at a time when the category is already burdened by a strong load of activity”.

“The agreement reached – explained the commissioner – assumes an important significance because, given that we are still waiting for a national agreement, it accelerates the vaccination times of elderly people in the region. Given the small number of vaccines, at the moment the agreement provides that general practitioners will administer them only to people over 80 who cannot move from their home ”.

It should be noted that, for these subjects, no type of booking is required as the doctors already have their own list available and they will directly contact the patients, also to obtain consent to vaccination.

“We are satisfied with this agreement – said Dr. Leandro Pesca, member of the regional secretariat of the Italian Federation of general practitioners – It is the task of general practitioners to stay close to their patients, especially those who have pathologies or are more fragile . Furthermore, we express satisfaction for the constructive dialogue with the Department, the Regional Health Department and the Company Departments, which takes the form of finding solutions in favor of citizens ”. “I take this opportunity – said Pesca – to ask our patients not to overload doctors with phone calls for information because they will be contacted directly”.
